Pathway 2 - Neurodiversity Insight Screen for ADHD and Autism (NI ADHD + Autism)

For children aged 5+ who have language and attend a mainstream school. This pathway supports families and schools concerned about attention, focus, hyperactivity, impulsivity, or behavioural challenges that may suggest ADHD or related neurodevelopmental differences.

We recognise that your child will often present with complex profiles, which is why we use a wide range of screening tools to understand strengths and difficulties across learning, communication and emotional regulation.

Our assessment includes:

The Vanderbilt ADHD Diagnostic Rating Scale
The Strengths and Difficulties Questionnaire (SDQ)
A detailed Behavioural Analysis
Screening for co-occurring traits of Autism, DCD (Dyspraxia) and other neurodevelopmental conditions using structured history and observation

You’ll receive a clear written report with tailored recommendations, a Post Screen Action Plan (PSAP) for home and school, and a Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) plan to help understand and manage behaviours effectively.

Pathway 2 Neurodiversity screening can be undertaken on-line.

Your Next Step: Insight, Not Labels

Our screening pathways are not diagnostic assessments, but they provide powerful insight into your child’s developmental profile, guiding you to know if you should seek further assessment or adapt support immediately.

Each screening includes a complimentary follow-up meeting with your child’s SENCO or early years lead, ensuring findings are used meaningfully to enhance your child’s learning and wellbeing.

Fee: £495 (inclusive of report, PSAP, PBS plan, and SENCO consultation)

Gold Standard

We use gold-standard questionnaires like the Vanderbilt ADHD Diagnostic Rating Scales (VADRS) AQ-10, Dyslexia Checklists and SDQ to explore neurodiverse presentations in children, teens, or adults.

We will travel to you, but ask that you cover milage at 0.45 pence a mile from our base in Derbyshire, this is in addition to the screening and professional report fee of £495.

1:1 Consultation

You will be able to talk to a neurodiverse specialist who listens. We guide you through your history, concerns, and goals in a safe, non-judgmental setting.

Attend a meeting with the SENCO and parent and advise with implementation of recommendations

Attend a 1 hour meeting with the SENCO and parent to discuss and agree implementation of recommendations.

Is the screening a diagnosis?

No and that’s the point.

This is a screening and support service, ideal for those unsure if they want or need a full diagnosis. It’s designed to inform, not to label and to facilitate appropriate reasonable adjustments in school or education that supports effective learning, inclusion and positive identity formation.

Pre-Diagnostic Screening Across England

Are you concerned about your child’s development? Worried about their lack of communication or their behaviour?

Neurodiversity Insight Screening can give you an early understanding about your child from as young as 3 years old. It will give you clear direction and practical support.

At the National Autism Assessment Centre, we understand that every child develops in their own way and that early understanding of their needs can make all the difference. We have two Neurodiversity Insight Screening Pathways which are designed to give parents and professionals clear, evidence-based insights into a child’s development, behaviour and sensory world, helping you take the right next steps with confidence.

Each screening pathway includes:

A comprehensive evidence-based screening process
A clear and accessible report
A Post Screen Action Plan (PSAP) built around the SPELL Framework (Structure, Positive approaches and expectations, Empathy, Low arousal, Links)
A Positive Behavioural Support (PBS) plan to guide daily strategies at home and school
A complimentary consultation with your child’s SENCO or early years lead to translate the findings into practical support

All of this is available for a single fee of £495.

Pathway 1 – Screening for Autism for your non-verbal child (NI-Autism)

For children aged from 3 years who are not yet using language. This pathway is designed for young children whose parents or early years practitioners have concerns about social communication, sensory differences or early behaviour patterns that may indicate autism.

We understand that at this stage, children often relate to the world through their senses and use behaviour as communication. Our NI-Autism screen focuses on understanding what your child’s behaviour means not just what it looks like.
